Wet paint and other liquids can send recyclables to waste!

To avoid causing a mess in your recycle bin and potentially sending your recyclables to waste, make sure paint tins are empty first.

Simply dry paint by leaving the tin open until dry, then scrape out the old paint into the waste to landfill bin. You may also consider using a paint drying powder, available from your local hardware store, to dry the paint quicker.

Once the tin is empty, it can be placed into the yellow lidded recycle bin for recycling.
